First access
If you didn’t set up your account, ask an existing Unclaimed Property user to invite you. For details on how to add and invite users, read the article on users.
After you get an invitation email (from noreply@sovos.com) to access Unclaimed Property for the first time, follow these steps:
- In the invitation email, click Get Started.
The link expires after 72 hours. If you set up your account and can’t log in or the link has expired, contact Sovos support. If you were invited by another user and the link has expired, ask that user to send you a new link.
- In the new window, enter and confirm your password. Then, click Continue.
- Enter your email address and password. Then, click Log In.

- 2-factor authentication is optional. Follow these steps to set it up or click I do not want 2-factor authentication. You can always set it up later. Check with your company’s security requirements to find out if you need to enable it.
To log in again, click Login in the invitation email or go to up.sovos.com.
Set up two-factor authentication (2FA)
To set up two-factor authentication (2FA) for your Sovos account, follow these steps:
- On the login screen, enter your email and password. Then, click Log In.
- When the 2FA prompt appears, click Get started.
- Download an authenticator app, such as Google Authenticator or Microsoft Authenticator, to your web browser or mobile phone. Once downloaded, follow the app directions and enter the unique setup key.
- After saving the new account in the authenticator app, enter your device name and the device code.
- Click Complete setup.
Setting up 2FA in Sovos Unclaimed Property enables 2FA across all Sovos products.
Manage two-factor authentication (2FA)
To manage two-factor authentication (2FA) for your Sovos account, follow these steps:
- Click the logo at the top of the side menu, then click Open Sovos Home.
- Click the Profile icon, then click My Profile.
- Click Security. Then, click Manage next to 2-Factor Authentication (2FA).
Reset your password
If your account was never activated, you can’t reset your password. If you set up your account and the link has expired, contact Sovos support. If you were invited by another user and the link has expired, ask that user to send you a new link.
To reset your password for all Sovos applications, follow these steps:
- On the login screen, click Forgot password.
- When prompted, enter your email address. Then, click Continue.
- After getting an email with a recovery code, paste the six-digit code into the field on the Check recovery code page, then click Next.
- On the Choose a Password page, enter and confirm the new password. Then, click Continue.
- Click Continue again to go back to the login page.
- Enter your email address and new password. Then, click Log In.
What to do if your email address changes
If your email address changes, follow these steps:
- Add a new user with your new email address and complete the first access steps again.
- Then, delete the user with your old email address.
